Ph.D, P. Eng.

Dr. Tony Boyd is a Professional Engineer registered in BC, Canada, P.Eng., serves as President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of NORAM Engineering and Constructors Ltd. but remains technically active in the area of technology development.  He was also President of Membrane Reactor Technologies Ltd. (MRT), a centre of excellence now fully absorbed by NORAM.

 

Tony has extensive experience in the development and commercialization of proprietary technologies in diverse industries such as mononitrobenzene (MNB), sulphuric acid, hydro-

genation and electrochemistry. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in chemical engineering in 2007 at the University of British Columbia. He is an expert on internally circulating fluidized bed membrane reactor for hydrogen production from steam reforming of natural gas, and was the key engineer on a number of successful FBMR demonstration projects for domestic and international clients, such as Tokyo Gas and BOC/Linde. He also leads the research and development of novel palladium-based composite membranes for clean energy applications.

 

Dr. Boyd holds a number of patents in membrane reactor technology and nitration processes. While performing his executive responsibilities, Tony remains actively involved in technology development, project management, and building NORAM’s close association with the University of British Columbia, GLAB Consulting and the industry.
